Today, at around 1300hrs, the Police were informed that a body had been spotted in the sea, in the Cirkewwa area.
As soon as the Police were informed of this report, they immediately went to the scene where a body was found in an advanced state of decomposition. Members of the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department assisted in the recovery of the body.
Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D was informed of the discovery and has appointed several experts to assist him in the inquiry he has appointed.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
