A 59-year-old man resident in Żabbar, was injured after a roof of a residence collapsed while undergoing works.
The accident occurred at around a 1045hrs, in Triq il-Qrendi, Żurrieq. The man was on a roof with a small machinery.
The Police went to the scene, as well as members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team, who after being taken out of the scene, was taken to hospital by ambulance. He was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.
Magistrate Dr Franco Agius LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, assisted by experts to assist him.
Investigations by the Police, together with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority and the Building and Construction Authority, are still ongoing.
