In a coordinated operation, the Police recently arrested 46 people after they were found living and/or working in the country irregularly. These inspections were carried out in the areas of Marsa, Paola and on various vehicles.
These persons are from Syria, Nigeria, India, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Mexico and Sudan. They are being held under arrest in a detention centre until they are repatriated.
During these inspections the Police were assisted by officials from the detention services Agency.
The Police force will continue with this intensive work in the coming days and weeks.
