35 persons were detained by the Police following an operation carried out in Marsa. The persons were arrested following spontaneous patrols carried out in different places known for loitering for illegal work purposes, as well as inspections on public transport.
The Police found people without a Maltese residence permit in circumstances which show they were in the country for work purposes in contravention of the Immigration Act.
These inspections continued on the work carried out during 2025, which is expected to intensify in the coming days and weeks.
Police were assisted by officers from the Detention Services Agency.
